Just as the subject says we are connecting these two devices through an analog port its set up as a paging port the phone is set to offhook station the short code is dial page short code to the extension. I have the little horn next to the extension as well in the settings. I get a busy signal when dialing the short code to the paging port and call rejected when dialing the extention directly, not sure if these things are important. I have tested the Valcom unit and it is putting out sound when told to but it seems as if the IPO is not signaling it correctly or something of this nature? RE: IPO 500 and Valcom V-2003A paging.
The V-2003A is normally intended to connect to a loop start trunk port, not a station or page port, but there are ways to make it work on those other ports. If you are using a paging port, you can connect to the V-2003A using the background music input, which will give you one zone all-call.If you have a normally-open contact closure that closes on page port access, and the page port passes DTMF, then you can use all three zones on the V-2003A.If you only have a station port available, then a Valcom V-9970 can be installed between the IP Office and the V-2003A. That serves the same purpose as the UPAM. RE: IPO 500 and Valcom V-2003A paging (Vendor) 5 Apr 11 16:34. I have installed the analog trunk and was looking for the post referencing the analog trunk that was installed but couldnt seem to find it. If you have a link to that post please resend. I know its been a week since I was on here but I couldnt get back to this customer very quickly I was on an emergency for the last week.
I have the analog trunk installed and the line to the paging module installed to that trunk how to do I trip that trunk through the phone so that I can page? The old way was through an extention doing dial page to the unit but was told that was wrong but I dont see a way to dial into that trunk or at least I am not sure of a way. Thanks to all in advance that assist/contributeWe are running into trying to get the above solution to work. Not sure if it can even work. The 3CX is a hosted cloud system that is on v15.5.
The snom pa1 has a built in template. We were trying to use the 3.5mm jack and attach to the music taps on Valcom v-2001a. When calling from a Yealink T46s we get nothing. When we call from a 3cx mobile app we get voice through but not loud enough.
We have adjusted the speaker volume in the Snom settings but no luck. Also have tried turning amplifier gain from 0 to 1 with no luck.Sorry if I am not explaining this correctly as I am still learning paging via SIP/3CX. I have one client that has a Asterisk PBX, SNOM PA1, and a Bogen amp. Because they are in a migration phase they have their legacy PBX still connected to the phone input to the Bogen, we ARE running the output of the audio jack (3.5mm) to the input of the music channel of the Bogen. This allows both PBXs to share the amp.
The only down side (if you can call it that) is the a page on the old pbx will override a page from the asterisk pbx. This has more to do with the Bogen and how we have it connected than the SNOM.You need to make sure your Valcom amp has a high impedance (Hi-Z) input on the music channel and not a balanced 600 ohm input. The output of the Snom1 (on the 3.5mm jack is Hi-Z). In there setup we have a patch cable that has a stereo 3.5mm jack and 2 rca jacks on the other end. The Bogen and the SNOM PA1 are mono audio, so you need to make sure you have the right channel connected to your amp. Hey guys I'm working on this paging issue with Jeremy thanks for all your input on this issue. Here is how we had and have the devices connected and the results.
We have tested both the Valcom 2001A and the Valcom 1030C horn and both are working.1. Snom PA1 line out (3.5mm mono) Valcom 2001A music port/ can hear very very low with horn volume all the way up2. Snom PA1 line out (3.5mm mono) Valcom VMT-1 HI Z output VMT-1 600 input Valcom 2001A music port/ can hear very very low with horn volume all the way up3. We have connected a stereo headset to the snom can hear the auto IP address OK, but when trying to page hear the tone and nothing more4. We also have a Linksys PAP2-NA PAP2T if anyone has used that device with 3cx and valcom. Mike2323 wrote:3. We have connected a stereo headset to the snom can hear the auto IP address OK, but when trying to page hear the tone and nothing moreWhat I would like you to do to complete the testing is connect the snom up to the amp again, and have it play the IP address through the PA speakers (same test as with the headphones). If that work at an equivalent volume as in the head set then the issue isn't on your analog side of the PA1.Looking at the schematic, there is a music channel volume control on the circuit board, is that at 50% or higher?

As of now we are just trying trying to get the SnomPA1 working through our 3CX before adding the Valcom unit.
In our attempt we are just hooking up a headset to the 3.5mm audio output of Snom. The IP address comes through fine however we are having issues with our 3CX instance working through it. It looks like you can connect an ATA to this pbx directly.
Its got a rj11 jack on it. From the docs you need to have that port configured for loop start (in opposition to ground start). It looks like you need to use an fxo ata to work with the valcom paging unit. Ref:From just a quick check it appears thePAP2Tis an fxs adapter (intended to be connected to a telephone which is an fxo device). This will not start the paging unit.FXS foreign exchange source (think creates dial tone)FXO foreign exchange operator (consumes listens to dial tone)I would expect with your paging system, you might be able to plug a telephone (an FXO device) into the amplifier (which should be a fxs device) you should be able to make a page. I use aSPA3102in my home PBX because it has 1 FXS and 1 FXO port (but a bit off point).
